Will it have a strong impact in people's life??
This article shows us that why people are
learning English.
It illustrates us that there are 9 big
reasons why people are studying.
Firstly, it is because of social media and
internet. 55% of all written content on the internet is in English, that is, people
have more access to the info when they can use English more and more. Secondly,
it gave us lots of opportunity to meet and communicate with various people around
the world.
Third, it is useful for travel.
When you go abroad and meet with local
people and tourist, most common language to talk with them at the same time is
definitely English.
Fourthly, If you increase your English
proficiency, you often will be able to get a new job, a better job or a
promotion where you are working.
Five, it is required for the university
study. Six, in many countries speaking English is regarded as a highly sought. Therefore,
you will stand out when you can speak English in every situation.
7, for music. English music tend to be more
popular than other countries songs and some people use these songs to learn
English.
8, With the vast popularity of Hollywood
movies and movie stars; many people want to master English so they can
understand movies and TV programs in English.
9, If is often mandated that people who
study or work in science medicine, economic and law and so on do research and learn
about new and advanced ideas within in their industry in English.
My opinion.
As you can from the summary, the role of English
in our daily life is big.
Though it is not obligated, you can
imagine, it will give us variety of opportunities as I mentioned above. What do
we have to do to earn this great opportunities???
I think it is more effective for us to make
English as an official language because it will give us lots of opportunities
to get in touch with English and eventually will lead to all of the people in
japan not specific people as I mention in the summary.
Will it boost refugees to come to Japan more????

Summary
The acceptance rate of immigrant to
japan is quite low. Therefore, the
author is insisting that "We hope that (Japan) will hold discussions with
UNHCR and NGOs and swiftly consider measures to certify refugees in line with
international standards," Then, the author shows us why japan avoids
entering refugees. The biggest reason
japan insisting is they have problems in inside their country. So, japan, in this situation, government, are claiming that after
they finish solving problems (low birthrate and increasing of elderly population),
they would contribute to this worldwide issue.
opinion
Japan accepted 27 asylum seekers out of
record 7,586 applications last year.
What does this rate mean? It means that
japan is not contributing to the problem that are discussed worldwide. My opinion
is like this. I know that, as prime minister has said in the interview, they
are struggling with the problems in inside our country (declining population of
young children and increasing population of erderly people). However, I think
it is a kind of excuse. As you know, all of the country have problems. However,
even in that case, they are trying to save those refugees from mainly Syria and
other Arabic countries. So, in my opinion, I think japan has to participate in
this problem more aggressively as other countries do.
How can we cope with those kind of
problems?????
I think language barrier is disrupting
japan to accept those refugees also. I think the government is thinking the
refugees would affect Japanese people’s life a lot. For example, cannot get job
and would impose us on tough tax to save those people. Therefore, I think it is
quite effective for us to save refugees from suffering by making English as an
official language in japan. If we do that, refugees would be possible to earn
job. In other word, it would be easier for them to get job because of language.
(since Englsih is a common language). In addition to this, I think those people
would bring us uprising economic condition. Why?? It is because when people start
to get job and work hard, it means that liquidity of market would be more
liquid and makes economic situation would change to a better situation. Therefore,
it is easier for us to solve the problems existing in current japan by
accepting refugees (before that making English as an official language is
inevitable)
